Saas Fee Snow Report 08/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Saas Fee
There is 260cm of snow at the top of the Saas Fee ski area with 78cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 5th March with around 1cm falling.
There are 98km of pistes open in the Saas Fee ski area with 21 out of 22 ski lifts open.
Over the next 3 days, a few light snow falls should be coming our way with temperatures dropping ever so slightly. At 2700m (the mid way point) temperatures are averaging at -5 in the morning and -6 in the afternoon. Winds at a maximum of 5km/h.
With everything almost 100% up and running today, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the deserted slopes from the top of the Allalin, (run 17 being a personal favourite due to its wide piste and ability to get in some decent turns to practice carving) all the way down to the village. A lot of kms to be covered today as the weather is looking promising. Winds are a lot lighter than earlier on in the week and blue skies can be seen. Temperatures continue to stay around -4, a bearable condition to keep us on the slopes all day obviously allowing for a lunch break. The Morenia restaurant offers a wide selection of food and drinks in a self service operation, great location for a quick pit stop.
This weeks guests at the Hotel Ambassador were the guinea pigs for a new quiz the rep had put in place. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the music rounds, guessing which films/adverts they came from. Same again next week
