Ski Range 1,140m – 2,500m

There are some gentle green nursery slopes down in Flaine Forêt, ideal for anybody new to skiing or boarding. There are also three free ski lifts so first-timers do not need to buy a lift pass straight away but can buy a lift pass locally as and when it’s required.

The Flaine bowl has a variety of skiing with delightful blue and red runs and the Grandes Platières cable car takes you to the summit at 2,480 metres from where, on a clear day, you will have a breathtaking view over towards the Mont Blanc Massif and Europe’s highest mountain.

Expert skiers will really appreciate the Combe de Gers where it is time to get out the ‘fats’ and enjoy the best powder in Flaine. It is a place of wide open skiing and various itineraries that will satisfy even the most starving powder hounds.

The new Desert Blanc 6-man chairlift has opened up the area to runs such as Lucifer and Belzébuth, although the names are in direct contrast to the pleasure felt when skiing and boarding these runs. Near to the top of the Desert Blanc is the blue cascade run, a hidden treasure, and the longest in the ski area with 14 kilometres of skiing without a ski lift in sight.

The Grand Massif ski pass also opens an additional 125kms of pistes allowing you to ski to the attractive and traditional villages of Sixt, Samoëns, Morillon and Les Carroz. Discover wonderful tree-lined runs and impeccably groomed pistes, as well as a wealth of lunch stops in these different villages.

Flaine Ski school

For children there is an equally good range of ski and snowboard lessons available, plus the non-skiing 'Village des Enfants' in the resort centre for children from three years, which has an excellent reputation. Overall Flaine is a great place for tuition of all levels, so call our Advisory team to talk through your requirements, from outright beginners to advanced skiers wanting a mountain guide to explore the off-piste adventures on offer.

Ski Range 1,500m – 2,500m
Flaine may well be best known for its unusual style of architecture in the resort centre, but hand-in-hand with this goes an amazing ski area which is the highest in the Haute Savoie region of France, and what’s more, offers a fantastic snow record.

Our three new chalets are located in the Hameau, a pretty satellite village, just over a kilometre above the main resort, and with fantastic views over the snow bowl surrounding Flaine. Each of our chalets offers these breathtaking views so you can see where you have skied during the day and which routes to take the following day.

Flaine is an excellent choice for all levels of skiers. It is also the gateway to the Grand Massif ski area and 265km of pistes linking the attractive villages of Sixt, Morillon, Samoens and Les Carroz.

The resort of Flaine is made up of a number of levels which are connected by lift or bus. There is Flaine Forum, regarded as the centre of the resort, with the main square and avant-garde outdoor art gallery displaying works by Picasso, Vasarely and Dubuffet. Above this sits Flaine Forêt, which largely consists of apartments, and then the chalet area of the Hameau and the Residence le Refuge du Golf, the newest and prettiest area of all, where our 3 chalets are situated. There is a ski track connecting this area to Flaine Forêt as well as a free resort ski bus and our Ski Total complimentary ski shuttle is available, so access to the skiing is easy and hassle- free.
