Sun and blue skies! Well for the rest of today and tomorrow at least. Sunday is bringing the clouds and some light snow to top us up for Monday morning. Monday brings us another fall, heaviest on Monday night. Temperatures are set to remain cool with some chilly nights – bring that extra layer to walk home from the Josl kellar in! Wind will generally be light.
Wow. Just wow. The pistes yesterday were probably in the best state I’ve seen all season. Light was a bit flat so it seemed as if many had chosen to stay in the village but they missed out! At 2pm I made some fresh tracks on the piste right at the top of red 7, off the Festkogel. Sadly my photo didn’t come out very well so you can’t see it. It snowed moderately over the course of the day so the snow just kept topping up. In parts it was like being off-piste. Hardly a mogul in sight, even the well-used red 3 back into resort was in top condition. Soft, squidgy, smooth, sumptuous .I just didn’t want the day to end! The weather forecast had been telling us we would have cloudy weather today but we all awoke to brilliant sunshine, blue skies and what looked to be another day of amazing skiing. How jealous was I when the ski hosting group hopped on the bus to Solden! If the snow continues to stay like this we’re going to have a great next few weeks.
Thinking caps on…it’s the Ski Total Quiz tonight and with a bottle for both the winning team and the losing team it’s sure to be a good one.
The US team are still here – they have been pouring water onto red 20 to make it more icy. Enjoyment? I think not! Take the blue 21 and 20a instead. The ski show was a stunner once again and the fireworks at the end unbelievable. High winds caused one part to be cancelled but I’m not going to tell you what – you will have to come next week to see it!
