Obergurgl Snow Report, 16 Mar 2010

SkierA small amount of snow fell on 11th March so we now have 158cm at the top of the mountain and 49cm in resort. All the lifts and runs are open.

With fresh snow falling this morning, conditions in resort are set to be nothing short of fantastic. The next few days should present a great opportunity to get stuck into some fluffy powder across the entire Obergurgl and Hochgurgl ski area. Red runs 3 and 25 should really benefit from this fresh snow, running right to the bottom of the mountain in Obergurgl and Hochgurgl respectively. One to watch is red run 17, a beautiful run through the trees that presents some brilliant off piste opportunities.

We are currently experiencing light snow in resort and this is forecast to result in around 7 centimetres of snow falling through the day. The snow should ease off by the evening and the sun is then expected to shine for the next couple of days. The bitterly cold temperatures we have experienced over the past couple of days are set to continue this evening (with a low of minus 12ºC at resort level tonight) but then greatly ease off over the following week, with temperatures expected to hover around the freezing mark until after the weekend.

Continuing its trend as the best après ski evening in the area, the après ski party in the Nederhut continues to be one that’s not to be missed! From 4pm, you can party with the Borut and Rudi, otherwise known as the “Nederlumpen”….it’s guaranteed that you will spend at least half your evening dancing on the chairs and tables…undoubtedly one of the best après ski experiences in the whole of Austria.
