Obergurgl Snow Report 15/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Obergurgl
There is 205cm of snow at the top of the Obergurgl ski area with 80cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 14th March with around 5cm falling.
There are 100% of pistes open in the Obergurgl ski area with 100% ski lifts open.
21 cm are due to fall over the weekend and into the beginning of next week. Temperatures are set to drop over the weekend but look to be warming up again by the time our new arrivals are ready to hit the slopes on Monday morning. Winter weather in spring climes I feel. However with the winds picking up a little bit I’d be bringing a face mask if I were packing!
Well the sun has wanted to stay and our promised snow has been temporarily put back for the next few days. However temperatures have dropped considerably and the snow is staying nice for us still. We must have been good children! Rising winds have kept people from the very top slopes – if you can stand it you have some amazing quiet runs, just a little breeze to contend with and I’m sure just an extra layer will do. Slightly lower, over towards blue 15, and red 16 and 17 the tree is providing shelter from the winds, and the red 25 down from Hochgurgl to the base station is proving very popular, again with its sheltering trees.
For an alternative to the ski show on Tuesday, especially if a little cold, the Hotel Riml in Hochgurgl offers an evening of live music. Free entry and this week it is “Mr.Nice” !. Tobogganing in Hochgurgl is still on on Thursday evenings – so simple and it’s just a few minute bus ride away.
