Obergurgl Snow Report, 05 March 2010

ObergurglThe snow depth is 154cm at the top of the mountain and on the lower runs of Obergurgl there is a depth of 48cm, with 3cm of fresh snow falling yesterday.

Some much needed fresh snow fell yesterday and continues to fall this morning. This snow is expected to continue today and tomorrow and will bring some brilliant powder conditions to the slopes over the weekend.

After this snow has fallen, red run 25 promises to be spectacular. One of the best runs in the whole resort, you follow the trees down from Hochgurgl village to the bottom of the Hochgurglbahn gondola…one run that’s not to be missed!

We are currently experiencing light snow in resort and this is forecast to continue through the day and become heavier tomorrow. Light snow is also expected to fall on Sunday with sunny and dry conditions forecast for Monday onwards. The high winds that are currently blowing through the resort are expected to decrease in intensity by tomorrow morning and wind speeds should be light for the following few days. Temperatures will be very cold over the next few days (with a low of minus 23 degrees Celsius) but warmer conditions are expected by the middle of next week.
