Zermatt, SwitzerlandSnow at the top of the ski area has a base depth of 150cm and runs into resort have 10cm.

The sun is shining and is set to do so for the remainder of this week. Zermatt, being of such great elevation, allows fantastic skiing conditions to coexist with the delights of the March sunshine.

The weather for the next 3 days looks great for getting out on the slopes. The sun is set to shine continuously and with vigour. Watch out for that goggle tan!!

Zermatt, SwitzerlandSnow at the top of the ski area has a base depth of 120cm and runs into resort have 20cm.

The Gornergrat area is still staying in good condition as is Schwarzee which doesn’t get as much direct sunshine. All areas are still in good condition in the morning and just softening in the afternoon.

After a scorcher of a week, the next few days are set to get back to more normal temperatures for this time of year. Cloud will start appearing on Saturday with snowfall forecast for Sunday. Top temperatures reaching around 7 degrees.

St Patrick’s day is here! Lots of bars around town are getting in on the action. The most well known though is the Irish band at the Schwarzee restaurant. Check them out and then carry on into the night at
some of the green themed parties around town.

Zermatt, SwitzerlandZermatt’s upper slopes, under the watch of the Matterhorn have a snow base of 130cm and lower runs have 40cm.

The pistes remain in good condition, with complete coverage and fine smooth slopes to fly down. The higher slopes on Trockner Steg are some of the best around.

The prediction is for bright sunny skies and cool temperatures for the upcoming week.

Fancy a dinner with a difference? Then why not try out the Starlight Dinner on Gornergrat. Your hosts at 3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat will serve you an exquisite dinner buffet. Observatories are located in the domes of the Kulmhotel, which can be seen from far away. During the evening, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the two observatories. Perhaps you will be in luck, and the weather will allow you to have a spectacular view of the starry sky.

Zermatt, SwitzerlandA light 2cm of snow dusting yesterday has refreshed the slopes, now with 150cm on the upper runs and 55cm lower down.

The snow conditions have been great all week – now is the time for heading off piste and enjoying the powder. Recent snowfall has also refreshed all the pistes and there has been some fantastic skiing particularly around the Matterhorn area.

The weekend is going to feel quite warm with temperatures reaching around 5 degrees in resort. The outlook is sunny with some cloud for the coming few days, Low wind speeds are making for great skiing conditions out there.

With St Patrick’s day on its way, why not think of stopping in at the Schwarzee restaurant to see the fantastic Irish band rocking their stuff. It is toe tapping stuff.

Zermatt, SwitzerlandApprox 10 – 15cm of fresh snow fell between Saturday night and Tuesday morning leaving the top of the ski are with 115cm and in resort 55cm.

The new snow over the last couple of days has re-invigorated Zermatt’s skiing, with all runs from the top of the Kleiner Matterhorn right down into Zermatt itself feeling the benefit. The best snow is to be found high up, with the top of Rothorn a particular delight for anyone chasing some fresh powder.

The forecast is for patchy sun and snow for today, leading in to a warmer, brighter day tomorrow. After that temperatures are due to drop, hopefully bringing some fresh snowfall with it.

Fancy a meal out with a difference? Visit the Igloo Village in the middle of the Zermatt ski region! There’s hardly any other place to stay that holds more romantic expectations than an igloo. A relaxing round of aperitifs and mulled wine is served before guests enjoy a cheese fondue. Entertainment is provided by the Singing Ice Bear.

Zermatt, Switzerland5cm fell at the weekend to top up the slopes and the upper runs now have a base of 100cm and lower runs into resort have 50cm.

The skiing conditions are currently excellent with plenty of snow on the pistes and beautiful sunshine predicted for the next week to come. The snow machines are supplementing the pistes and producing great carving conditions!

The weather for the next 3 days looks great for getting out on the slopes. Its going to be getting a bit colder which should keep the pistes in pristine condition throughout the day

Celeb-spot: Fiona Bruce was recently sighted in Zermatt with an entourage.

Zermatt, SwitzerlandUpper slopes of the area have a depth of 165cm and lower runs into resort have 95cm.

The pistes are in good condition over the entire mountain and in Cervinia too, for those with an international lift pass. With no fresh snow for a couple of weeks, off piste areas are now quite tracked but still providing fun for adventurous sorts. Why not try jumps onto one of the two airbags now in operation or if you aren’t feeling quite so adventurous, why not ski past them in the Blauherd and Gornergrat regions to watch people launch themselves onto them. Quite a sight!

After a day of fairly flat light yesterday, we are back to blue skies for the rest of the week. The next few days are shaping up to be great ski days where you will be able to enjoy lunches outside on the terraces around Zermatt. Temperatures are soaring and will nudge just above freezing around the resort.

The big mountain race is coming up this weekend – if you fancy a ski touring race from Sunnegga up to the top of the mountain at Rothorn, check out the competition which starts at 5pm on Saturday. With an ascent of over 1400 metres, it is quite a climb. If you are feeling fit, why not give it a go!

Zermatt, SwitzerlandThe high up pistes are still experiencing some of the best snow conditions for many years with a snow base of 165cm. Lower runs have 95cm.

The small smattering of snow 2 days ago has freshened up the resort and given the off piste a new dimension.

The forecast for the next few days is for clear skies, sunshine, and increasingly warm weather.

Saturday evening sees the return of the Zermatt-Rothorn mountain race. The mountain race is a night ski-tour event from Zermatt (1620 m) up to the Rothorn (3103 m). The Elite category starts at 17 h 00 in Zermatt. The starting signal for the Fun Pop category from Sunnegga will sound at the same time. At the end of the race, everyone meets in the restaurant Sunnegga for a spaghetti party and prize giving. All participants travel back together by train.

Zermatt, SwitzerlandSnow depth at the top of the ski area is now 170cm and around the resort there is 110cm.

The half term revellers really have brought the sun with them, fuelling perfect visibility and conditions all week. Despite the limited snow action conditions on the piste are holding up delightfully.

Whatever the weather, the snow cannons are available to ensure the pistes remain in a good condition and you can maximise your enjoyment on the slopes.

The next few days will continue to offer sunny and clear conditions. However come Sunday, Zermatt will see a fresh batch on snow, falling most heavily on Sunday night. This will ensure a perfect start to the week for guests arriving on Sunday.

Zermatt, SwitzerlandSnow depth on the upper slopes is 70cm and at resort level the base is a good 110cm.

The condition of the pistes is still good, with the slopes around the Klein Matterhorn area holding their condition exceptionally well.

After the recent cold snap, temperatures are getting back to normal for this time of year. The forecast is for cloud in the mornings and sunny afternoons for the next few days – perfect for lunchtime on a terrace or enjoying the rays on Sunnegga in the late afternoons. Top temperatures are around minus 7 degrees.
