The recent snow has freshened up both the pistes and the off piste alike, leaving it as if skiing on a luxurious carpet but one that is 170cm deep.
Particular highlights are the 2 red runs down from Rothorn, where you can feel as though you are completely alone on the mountain.
The forecast at the moment is set for changeable conditions, with snow today, bright sunshine tomorrow, overcast on Thursday, and temperatures dropping to the levels you would expect for this time of year.
Tomorrow sees the return of the annual Luttman-Johnson ski challenge to Zermatt; a race around the various bars and mountain restaurants across the ski area. With prizes on offer for everything from oldest skiers and boarders to best fancy dress and longest time spent in a bar, it is sure to be an absolute riot.

The fantastic year of snow continues! The pistes really are in superb condition, and the sprinkling of snow and sun we have had are keeping it that way.
Magical scenes in Lech the last few days with low lying clouds covering the village and brilliant blue skies surround the stunning peaks of Lech and Zurs. The pistes really are in superb condition, and the sprinkling of snow and sun we have had are keeping it that way. It is perfect conditions for some of Zurs’ sweeping red runs. Flying down the run number 10 off the Muggengrat chairlift and watching the breathtaking scenery, it doesn’t get much better than that! Off piste conditions are still excellent, but the avalanche level has dropped down to 2, so off-listing is becoming more accessible. There is a lot to choose from off the piste in Lech and Zurs, so with more snow expected, Lech is the place to be!
We should see overcast conditions the next few days with a sprinkling of snow to keep the top layer nice and soft. Temperatures will drop progressively throughout the week, may as low as -18c in resort during the day!

The snow is near perfect having recently had a drizzle of snow, and this has provided some amazing pistes with the upper slopes boasting 351cm.
Yet again the Saas Fee area has been blessed with a bright blue sunny sky, allowing for some perfect visibility for some amazing skiing.
The bright blue skies are set to change to snowy conditions over the weekend allowing fresh snow to give some amazing piste conditions for those of you who love the powder. With nearly 20cm predicted before Sunday, there is going to be a massive dumping of snow headed to Saas Fee
The plans for the carnival are underway ready for the beginning of next month, with many shops selling outfits to wear and the excitement building. This is an event not to be missed.

With the slightly varied weather this week, the conditions have been excellent on most days. Top of the ski area boasts 270cm and in resort there’s 190cm.
Upper slopes which had been heavily trafficked such as the ever-popular Plein Sud have had a fresh coating of snow, banishing any challenging spots, while the pistes lower down in the valley such as around the Plan de L’eau chairlift have remained fresh and relatively quiet. Head towards Les Menuires on the bd Cumin run for greater chances of sunshine, low winds and pristine conditions
Up to 20cm of snow is forecast to fall over the next 24 hours, with snow showers continuing into Sunday to completely freshen up the off piste areas which have become heavily tracked. Light snowfall will return on Monday, with clearer weather expected for the rest of the week. Temperatures not expected to be above -10C on the mountain.
The biggest event of the week is the Skicross French Cup, taking place on Saturday. Beginning at 9:45am and continuing until 1:30 at the Boardercross, accessed via the 2 Lacs chairlift, it should be an exciting and unique event to witness.

Conditions are superb out on the Sella Ronda with a light snow top up midweek and more light snow due over the weekend.
After a light snow fall on Wednesday and waking up to blue skies on Thursday, the conditions were perfect out on the slopes of the Dolomites yesterday. The cold temperatures are maintaining the snow structure, and keeping the piste crisp and fresh giving you beautiful snow to enjoy.
The next few days promise a few light snow showers but mainly clear skies, so conditions should stay perfect into the weekend, and provide a great opportunity to enjoy the amazing views of the Dolomiti scenery whilst speeding along the pistes!

Tonight sees the HC Gherdeina Ice hockey team come head to head with ASD Hockey Pergine Solar plus at the Sports Stadium Pranives. Kicking off at 8.30pm make sure you are there with a glass of Gluwine to keep you warm.
Monday night brings us the last Ski Show of the month so to end the month in style the Free ride Club Val Gardena are hosting not only the impressive Ski Show, performing amazing free style tricks and jumps, but also putting on a Fire show too. Starting at 9.30pm it’s sure to be an explosive night!
Fancy a slower paced activity on the snow? The Selva Active office have organised a snowshoeing excursion, taking you through the stunning scenery of the Puez Odle National park. Setting off at 1.30pm on Monday, or 9.30am on Tuesday, you can enjoy a two and a half hour trip following the tracks of such wildlife as deer, and get the opportunity to try and spot some other animals along the way.

The fine weather has continued in Les Arcs this week, with a number of days with perfect conditions and the depth of snow on the Aiguille Rouge is now 340cm.
On days when we haven’t had clear blue skies, the freshly fallen snow has added an extra layer of powder to what was already an impressive base. With all lifts and runs in resort open, there has been a wide range of skiing to please everyone, with the perfectly groomed leisurely Mont Blanc piste and the off-piste areas around Arcabulle amongst the most popular this week.
The excellent conditions are forecast to continue into next week, with 15-20cm of snow forecast at the start of the weekend, and further snow showers predicted later in the week.

A covering of snow a couple of days ago has refreshed the pistes and skiing conditions are good all around. Snow depth at the top of the ski area is now 180cm.
There is still plenty of off-piste skiing to be had and the snow in the main areas between the pistes remains in good condition for some powder fun.
The weather will be mostly cloudy with some sunny periods. Light snowfall is forecast for Saturday. The rest of the time it will be dry with top temperatures around 1 degree.
The cross-country trails around Zermatt have now been extended and the trails used for the junior world championships have been re-opened. This is a technically challenging section of trail laid out like an alpine road with hairpin bends. If you fancy trying it, tickets are available through the lift pass offices.

The cold overnight temperatures have maintained the pistes in peak condition giving a wonderful experience across the Méribel valley with upper slopes having a 225cm base.
The Grand Duc leading into Gelinotte has been a particular favourite leisurely run and proving a firm favourite with guests and staff alike.
Slightly overcast skies mean that there’s more snow on the way to top up the pistes which will freshen things up nicely for next week’s guests.
This weekend sees the start of the Combined British Forces Championships so the recent great snow conditions should make for some amazing competition

Given the fantastic conditions currently on offer and the further snowfall set to fall over the next few days, Val d’Isère is set to amaze those who have the luxury of a holiday in this beautiful resort.
Why not come along and ski with your own personal host and be given inside information to all the best runs in resort? The Arcelle on the Solaise Mountain is a particular favourite as it is a long wide red run allowing all abilities to ski together.
For those who like to have their own adventure then their is some fantastic off-piste running parallel to the ‘Sache’ run that takes you down in to Tignes les Brevieres. Here you can stop off at the ‘Etoile’ and have a morning hot chocolate in a large bowl, before the sun falls away in the afternoon.
Skipping back over to Val D’Isere in the afternoon you have a wide range of runs such as Diebold and OK that take you into La Daille. Both pistes are in excellent condition whilst the tree line offers excellent visibility and the opportunity to do a bit of tree skiing if such a thing takes your fancy.
The next few days are set to snow with 20 cm falling onto the enchanting resort of Val d’Isère. Monday should also bring 13cm of fresh powder whilst the rest of the early part of next week is set to be bathed in sunshine.

Snow at the top of the ski area is now a solidayly packed base of 278cm. Most slopes are receiving regular grooming, resulting in perfect, fast skiing. Santa Croce and La Villa have had much better skiing conditions with much more powder on the piste. Beautiful sunshine has been experienced across the Dolomiti ski network, goggle tans have been coming along nicely for guests during their skiing in Arabba this week.
Beautiful sunshine, low temperatures and cloudless skies are due for the next few days with little change expected. Perfect skiing conditions, and also snow making conditions. Highs of -3oc and lows of -16oc are expected with wind speeds between 0-kmph. The Sella Ronda and Maramolada Glacier should remain open through the next week, a must for new and returning guests a-like.
The build up to the Dolimiti night ski race (Ski Marathon) continues until the 10 February 2012. Quiz nights, wine tasting and local cuisine continue to be enjoyed by guests visiting the area. Especially the local ham, speck.
Another ski show is planned for the 16 February 2012, an exciting evening of free mulled wine and spectacular displays by the local ski schools, ski teams and freestyle specialists. On the 17 February 2012 an exciting night ski-touring competition called Lors Da Reba will be held from Arabba to the Passa Pordoi.
