The sun has got his hat on here in Les Arcs with bright clear weather and warm pleasant temperatures due all week.

Current snow depth is 260cm high up at 3000m and 135cm at 1600m. Conditions are good across almost all slopes following last week’s top up of powder. Receiving some shade in the afternoons, Arc 2000 is in the best condition.

A good early morning excursion is to take the 7km Aiguille Rouge piste down to Villaroger, which at this time of day is some of the best skiing to be had in the whole area.

Site of the world record for speed-skiing, the infamous ‘Flying Kilometre’ is currently being conditioned and pisted. Those visiting Les Arcs in the near future will get to see this terrifyingly steep black run aced by the professionals.

Snow at the top of the ski area has a base depth of 150cm and runs into resort have 10cm.

The sun is shining and is set to do so for the remainder of this week. Zermatt, being of such great elevation, allows fantastic skiing conditions to coexist with the delights of the March sunshine.

The weather for the next 3 days looks great for getting out on the slopes. The sun is set to shine continuously and with vigour. Watch out for that goggle tan!!

Snow at the top of ski area is 160cm and the snow depth in resort is 45cm.

The Pistes are perfect at the moment in the mornings for some fast skiing and carving practice as they are lovely and hard packed without ever being icy. Skiers love the first runs down chamossiere and the reds in the bowl too and in the afternoon the slopes become great fun for snowboarding.

Today we are skiing the Morzine side so will be covering the Point de Nyon and Chamossiere runs as well as the lower side including the quiet slopes around the Atray lift we are expecting it to be great fun as Morzine in general has also been very quiet recently. On Friday we will venture to Avoriaz where despite being hot the snow also remains in good condition with the Coupe du Monde run which was used as a world cup downhill run in the 90s is one of the favourites for those who enjoy blacks. For red and blue skiers the linderet forest will be lovely as well as the Fornet area and the area under the Lac des Intrets lift.

The forecast for the next few days is sun, sun, sun! With light winds and clear skies its going to be beautiful!

Snow at the top of the ski area has a snow depth of 365cm and runs into resort have 120cm.

We had a sprinkling of snow on Sunday morning, a gentle dusting across the slopes.

The weather is absolutely stunning this week, pure blue skies, every single day. The snow is good, especially high up, like at the top of schindlergrat and valluga. For other good pistes that are a little lower down, but still good, stuben and St Christoph are good in the afternoons. The heavy snow means that you definitely deserve your lunch by the time it comes around, and there is nothing better than eating a well deserved lunch on the mountain, enjoying the beautiful sunshine and gorgeous views.

More sun for the next two days and then the possibility of more snow on Friday!!

The spring is definitely here, every lunch time the goggles are off , the sunglasses are on and as much skin out as people dare to bare. Rendl beach is becoming more and more beach like. People sit there for hours watch not waves and swimmers but jumps and skiers. Music, picnics, snow-chilled beer and some good entertainment pretty much sums up Rendl at the moment.

Snow up at Seceda, the upper piste depth is 70cm, while the snow depth in resort in 30cm.

The slopes have become noticeably quieter this week which reduces the risk of mogels building up through the day. The tree lined blues in Plan de Gralba are maintaining good snow through the day and benefit from a bit of shade in the afternoon. The Canazei bowl also offers a broad area of north facing slopes that always offers plenty of space for practicing those large carving turns.

Impressive snow conditions can also be found on our away days to The Hidden Valley, Cinque Torri and Cortina. Deserted slopes and north facing slopes make for some beautiful skiing conditions despite the warmer spring conditions.

We had the last ski show of the season on the Freina slope last night put on by the Freestlye Ski School of Selva.

Ice Hockey in Pranives stadium– HC Gardena are playing game 2 of a 7 game play off on Wednesday 28th March. Faces off at 8.30pm. Be sure to get along and experience the excitement!

Slopes are still in grand condition with 300cm depth on the upper runs and 86cm on the home pistes.

Vaujanay and Montfrais continue to offer perfect, wide picturesque, well groomed pistes including Les Rousses, Les Bartavelles, Edelveis, Vaujaniette among others. While Petit Prince and Les Vallons down to Villard Reculas still have some beautiful snow in the morning. The main basin is perfect for some sweeping carves on any of the greens like Les Sagnes, blues like Les Coulouir and reds like Les Chamois and as you climb higher towards 3300 metres the snow remains fresh and crunchy all day despite the glorious sunshine.

Sunny skies are forecast for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with a light breeze through the clear skies.

International Gay Ski week is in full swing with a jam packed programme of events available on the European gay ski week website. Next week Alpe d’Huez will hold the French Snow Grooming machine drivers championship.

Snow depth at the top of the ski area at the Col de Gentianes is 265cm and lower runs have a base of 125cm.

A perfect mix of glorious sunshine, superb snow and empty slopes make Verbier and the 4 Valleys a wonderful place to spend a weeks spring skiing. Every one of the 4 Valleys 410km of runs are open and with good snow cover despite temperatures reaching a balmy 23°C at resort level which means you’ll have plenty of room to explore and indulge your adventurous side! Runs are nice and firm in the morning but the best snow can be found around mid-day when the snow softens slightly. To get the best of Verbier this week stay above Les Ruinettes; Lac De Veux and the long run in between Attelas and Ruinettes are particular highlights!

Blue skies and sunshine are predicted throughout the week with temperatures expected to stay high. There may be some snow towards the end of the week with Sunday currently looking the most likely.

The final of the Freeride world tour took place over the weekend with Reine Barkered of Sweden taking first place in the elite men’s final. Almost 10,000 people packed out the Col De Gentianes to watch the action as the worlds best free riders came down the Bec de Rosse in an electrifying final!

The snow pack is hard but the weather is beautiful and the landscape is stunning. Compared to this time last year the piste conditions could be considered excellent! Spring time skiing is with us! The best thing to do at this time of year is to ski early, have a great lunch somewhere up the mountain and relax in the afternoon. Usually with a Van Chaud or une bière bien fraîche!

Weather forecast for next 3 days
We have had brilliant sunshine for the past 4 days and the sunny weather is set to continue. The next five days are set to be sunny with little or no breeze. The freezing level is at about 2000m so there is good skiing on the higher runs in Courchevel 1850.

Snow – top of ski area 180cm at the Idalp and the snow depth in resort is 60cm

Guests this week are already marvelling at how splendid the weather is! There is surprise all round at the great condition of the snow – with the warmer weather the expectation is for ice and slush but with nearly two metres of base Ischgl is safe. Not to mention the fact that the piste bashers have been hard at work – especially on the Palinkopf side, everything is very smooth. Red 40 is made for shooting down, and round by Alp Trida all the 60s have great snow.

The park is better than ever and if you hit them in the morning the duty free runs down to Samnaun are absolutely stunning.

Get ready for your goggle tans! With plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures the deck chairs are filled! However, at the moment Thursday afternoon is forecast for a light dusting of snow, which will serve beautifully to refresh the pistes.

Local news/events and gossip! Tonight is the Ski School Demo Show. It’s been a month since it’s run in its entirety, so it’s due to be fantastic! At 9pm watch as Ischgl’s finest take part in synchronised skiing, jumps, flips and tricks accompanied to pumping music, coloured spotlights and fireworks!

Snow at the top of the ski area still has a massive base of 302cm and the lower runs are well covered with 10cm.

With the bright sunshine and milder temperatures, the snow is doing well to stay in good condition on the higher slopes – especially on the glacier. Do the home runs first thing in the morning, when they are in their best condition. Off-piste there are still areas, especially on the glacier, which will still be fun.

The sun will be sticking around for the whole week, with a few clouds closing in on Wednesday evening which will bring the odd snow shower overnight. The clouds will still be lingering on into Thursday morning, and will gradually thicken to bring light snow on Thursday afternoon. This will, however, be short lived and the sun will return on Friday. Wind will be generally light and temperatures will be quite mild – with maximum temperatures staying above freezing. Down in town temperatures will reach highs of 7 or 8 degrees Celsius – but will feel a lot warmer in the sun.

This week in Sölden is the annual Gay Snow Happening to Celebrate Austrian Gay Ski Week. So there are numerous Events going on around the town which you can take part in!

Today it’s all happening in Silbertal! In the secluded Vent valley, there will be a BBQ and ‘Trachten Party’ from 9pm in the Après-ski bar, Kuhstall, with special renowned DJ’s, DJ Ronny and DJ Cassy Carrington all the way from Cologne. The next stop off is at bar, Mogul, for the ‘Hot Berlin Party’ from 10:30pm where DJanes, Melli and Mataina, will be continuing the party.

On Wednesday, the Après-ski destination is the popular Phillip’s and Finale bars at the bottom of the nursery slopes from 4pm. Afterwards at 6pm there will be transfers down to Längenfeld To the thermal spa, the Aqua Dome, where you can recover From all the partying in various pool areas, saunas and steam Baths.

On Thursday head to Marco’s for Après-ski from 4pm and then at 9pm take part in the Moonlight Bowling at the Freizeit Arena. Afterwards the party continues at club, Fire & Ice, where there will be one of the biggest gay circuit parties, Salvation. The ‘Pure White Party’ will be kicking off at 10pm and with Special DJ Oliver M, Gogo dancers and drag queens; it’s set to be the event of the week!!

On Friday at 10:30am, it’s the Gay Fun Race at the Giggijoch, which looks to be a fancy dress extravaganza with prizes for outfits and race times. If you’ve not purchased your Party Pass, though, then most of the events come at a fee – check out the Sölden website for more details.
