We took possession of the La Brêche yesterday – our new-build Scandinavian–style ski-in/ski-out chalet in Alpe D’Huez. The staff’s jaws hit the floor as they walked through the door – their joy turned to fear as they realised the responsibility they are now undertaking for one of the nicest properties in our portfolio!

Throughout, it is skilfully finished in stone and wood. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with pine beds, squishy mattresses and carved or painted drawers and wardrobes – all have tiled under floor heating which can be individually set to your own ideal temperature and get this – we have installed a flat-screen TV/DVD player in each bedroom! The dining room is bright and spacious with the largest flat-screen TV I have ever seen – it even has a Blu Ray DVD player.

There is still some availability in February and some in March/April – often the best time to go with longer days and with Alpe D’Huez’s altitude, chances are the snow will still be great! But places are going fast, so book now!
