The conditions continue to be exceptional with an upper slop snow base of 290cm, almost matched by the 250cm on the lower runs into resort.
Yesterday, I decided to take advantage of my Full Porte Du Soleil Pass and skied the Les Gets and Morzine area.
I took the home run from Avoriaz down to the bottom of the Prodain Valley, where I took the free bus that takes you to the other side of Morzine and directly outside the Pleney Telecabine.
Even after 3 seasons, this area still holds some of the most joy for me. Piste B and D in Morzine are just wonderful, especially with the current snow conditions. No matter where you go in the Les Gets bowl, you cannot go wrong; just make sure you travel to the top of the Rainfolly. The views at the top are breath-taking. The stunning vista takes in Mont blanc and Flaine, with sweeping valleys and snow as far as the eyes can stretch, it really is beautiful. The blue and the red coming back down aren’t half bad either!!!
On the way back we stopped at the Inferno bar, a bar/restaurant located in the Nyon range between Les Gets and Morzine. They have a bbq on the piste, live band and it always makes for a great atmosphere.
I then headed back to Avoriaz and had a quick play in the stash. Again, with the snow conditions as are, the stash is just pure fun at the moment!
Weather forecast for next 3 days is for light snow all day tomorrow clearing a bit for Sunday and then more snow on Monday!
