Good snow at the top of the ski area with 210cm and home runs have 62cm base on well-maintained runs.

The pistes off the back of signal area offer beautiful morning skiing, down Le Petit Prince and Les Vallons. Alternatively head over to Bergers and zip around the Marmottes area. During the middle of the day start heading over to the Alpette-Rousses down Les Rousses or through Oz. Bartavelles still remains one of the best new pistes in resort and Vaujanay and Montfrais offer some fantastic skiing whether it’s the blues around the Montfrais area, the wide speedy Les Chalets towards the west or the ever popular black, La Fare…still perfect despite the fact it goes down to 1200 metres even in all of the sun we have had. Later in the afternoon head up Marmottes 3 and hit some of the blues and reds closer to Pic Blanc as they remain fresh through the day.

We are expecting about 6cm of snow over the course of today with slightly cooler temperatures than we have seen so far this week. The snow forecast shows more snow tomorrow and it will be slightly cooler again. Thursday has a forecast of very light snow and similar temperatures.

Over the 4th & 5th of April Alpe d’Huez will be holding the French Grooming Machine Drivers Championship. This kicks off at 9.45 on Wednesday morning at the top of the yoghurt pots/the bottom of the DMC.

Snow at the top of the ski area is 150cm at the Idalp and the snow depth in resort is 20cm.

Ski Conditions Despite the gorgeous sunshine the slopes are actually in very good condition as they are being very conscientious about bashing them. In the morning the sun-softened slopes of Alp Trida are the place to be, in particular Red 66 and 76. In the afternoon the Palinkopf side is better, as more of the slopes are north facing and therefore the best bet towards the end of the day. They’ve been adding to the park again, and now there are a few more jibs in the lower one.
With the dump forecast for Thursday Ischgl will be the place to ski for the rest of the week!

Another day of sun today and tomorrow morning will give way to light snow tomorrow afternoon and 8cm on Thursday afternoon/evening, which should top up the pistes beautifully for the remainder of the week!

Sunday is Ischgl’s famous Easter Top of the Mountain concert! They’ve started moulding the snow for the stage where Tim Bendzko is all set to perform to thousands… it’s certainly going to be spectacular!

A good base of snow continues to cover the upper slopes, with a depth of 195cm and home runs into Tignes have 95cm.

The recent stretch of beautiful weather in Tignes continues. With divine blue skies for the last few days the resort is looking magnificent.

The snow coverage in resort is still comprehensive with all on piste runs not even showing the affects of the recent stunning weather.

Snow conditions in resort vary massively due to aspect, time of day and altitude. All slopes are to be found fairly firm in the early part of the day.

Slopes that receive a large amount of sun exposure soften very quickly to exhibit some great fun spring skiing. This is particularly noticeable on the Cyclamen slope from the eye of the needle down to Tignes Le Lac.

Slopes that receive a glancing blow from the sun are staying firmer throughout the day allowing everyone to practice some good solid carving turns. This is particularly noticeable on the slopes in the La Daille region with the Orange slope from the top of Bellevarde at 2827 all the way to 1785.

The two Glaciers in the region are holding up fantastically well still exhibiting fresh snow. Temperatures on the Glaciers are still holding very strong meaning its looking good for summer ski conditions.

Snow, snow, snow… Snowfall is forecast over the next couple of days with as much as 30cm of snow forecast over Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures are due to fall accordingly meaning any fresh powder should remain.

The Ski Club of Great Britain are putting on a Giant Slalom event underneath the Tichot lift tomorrow. This will be a massive event with multiple different ability levels. There will also be a BBQ and live music performed so even if you don’t have it in you to compete you can come along and enjoy the atmosphere.

At the top of the ski area (at 3500m) the snow base tops 3 metres with 340cm and at resort level (1800m) snow coverage is still great with 47cm.

The skiing conditions at the top of the mountain are as good as anywhere around, with the Swiss pisteurs creating the perfect surface for fast skiing. With the majority of the runs open there is quite a lot of variety to be had.

This week we have a mixture of sun and heavy snow, providing a good variety of skiing conditions. About 30cm of snow is forecast to fall on Tuesday and Wednesday night, with blue skies forecast for Friday.

We have the Saas Fee snow and style show put on by the Ski School this Wednesday. This includes a torchlight descent, skiers with 3 metre long skis, skiers dressed in fluorescent bunny outfits, and one skier in a fireproof suit doing tricks with fire. If this isn’t enough to tempt you, do come along for the complementary gluhwein!!

Snow depth at the Col de Gentianes, the high point of the ski area, is 250cm and slopes are perfectly groomed down to resort level where the base is 15cm.

Snow clouds are gathering above Verbier and everyone is doing their best snow dance in the hope of one last dump of snow. The superb spring weather of the last few weeks has briefly subsided allowing resort staff to get the pistes back in to perfect condition.

There is still some great snow to be found, particularly early in the day; the long red run sweeping down from the Col De Gentianes to La Chaux being a perfect example. To really get the best out of the warm weather ski through till 2.30pm, stop for a late lunch and head back in to resort for some of the best après-ski in the world!

We are set for one last spring snowfall over the next few days with over 30cm of snow predicted. Temperatures will remain mild, with the freezing level at 2200m expect a little bit of rain in resort and plenty of the white stuff up the mountain!

With Easter on the way, the Verbier Tourist Board is arranging an Easter egg hunt for children up to the age of 15. Come along and enjoy the spring sunshine whilst following the clues around Verbier to find the eggs!

There is plenty of snow here in Val Thorens with 215cm on the upper slopes and 135cm on the runs into the resort.

For this late in the season, the pistes around Val Thorens are still in excellent condition. There is full snow coverage on piste, and plenty all around the rest of the mountain as the resort is still coated in the white stuff. Ski conditions are best in the morning, and with Val Thorens’ high altitude the majority of runs are maintaining their integrity well into the afternoon.

There will be clear and sunny for the rest of the week, temperatures increasing gradually to around 3C by Friday.

On March 27, 28 and 29 “Focus Event Prod» and “FG DJ Radio” will be hosting the “FESTI VAL THO 2012″, the first free electro festival in the Alps in Val Thorens France.

This is the first time since its creation that the Festival teams up with two giants of Culture Club “FG DJ Radio” and “Clubbing TV” to deliver an exciting and electrifying program, mixing different styles of Electro, House, Techno, Trance, and many more…

This fifth edition of the festival is also an opportunity to reconnect with the original spirit of the event, combining live music electro, various forms of extreme skiing.

On free style side: A Big Air Ride show for the veterans of this sport will be provided. To ensure that we meet your expectations, we are honored to announce the presence of pro-rider Antoine Diet, and the best of the Freeski Session of Belleville among us.

A Big Air Bag will also be included on the site and open to all.

Snow depth at the top of the ski area is 155cm and the lower slopes back into Obergurgl have 86cm cover.

With temperatures rising gradually as the season draws to a close, lower slope in many resorts are beginning to suffer from heavy, snow in the afternoon with unwelcome green patches beginning to show through. Not so in Obergurgl.
All runs back down into the village are still covered with an excellent layer of snow.
Higher up, conditions are much as they were in mid-winter but with warmer temperatures making for a very pleasant skiing experience. Runs of note are:

Red 28 – As one of Obergurgl’s highest runs, red 28 benefits from the slightly colder air to preserve the snow. Meaning this ski run has an excellent covering of grippy snow to make for a speedy and comfortable descent.

Black 33 – One of Obergurgl’s trickier runs through the trees, its sheltered position means that it has maintained an excellent covering of snow, while some of the more exposed runs are tending to become a slightly icy. The lower section of this run also benefits from a gentle natural half-pipe.

Warm and sunny conditions are set to continue through to Friday with light snow forecast for Friday afternoon. Temperatures will hover at a pleasant 5 degrees during the day, dropping to around 0 at night.

Today is the night of the Ski School show at the top of the Festkoglbahn in Obergurgl. Expect fireworks, stunning formation skiing and breathtaking stunts from Obergurgl’s top ski instructors.

Snow depth at the top of the ski area of the Espace Killy is 200cm and the lower slopes back into Val have 125cm cover.

Skiing the beautiful Espace Killy area at the moment couldn’t be better. The sunshine and mild temperatures ensure for perfect visibility of the surrounding mountain lines and may well leave you with some colour on your cheeks! The skiing is still very much enjoyable, especially up on the glaciers where snow conditions are as good as they always were. The Grande Motte in Tignes is a particularly good place to discover both amazing snow and fantastic views. The real ski experience is topped off with a leisurely lunch on the sunny terraces of the restaurants that dot the mountain, enabling you to watch passers by enjoying the snow and sunshine before you are ready to join in once more.

Following in the trend of the last few days, the sunshine spell is set to continue to bewitch the mountains for the coming week.

All eyes are turning to the Face this evening as the Altigliss Challenge really swings into action. The Altigliss Challenge is THE biggest student skiing and boarding competition in Europe. Top French riders will be battling for glory in a spectacular freestyle skiing competition set to a firework display tonight; not an event to be missed! There are activities for the public and live concerts to attend all this week until the closing ceremony on Friday. The milder evenings with longer sunlight spells perfect conditions to watch such young talent really tear up the pistes.

The sun has got his hat on here in Les Arcs with bright clear weather and warm pleasant temperatures due all week.

Current snow depth is 260cm high up at 3000m and 135cm at 1600m. Conditions are good across almost all slopes following last week’s top up of powder. Receiving some shade in the afternoons, Arc 2000 is in the best condition.

A good early morning excursion is to take the 7km Aiguille Rouge piste down to Villaroger, which at this time of day is some of the best skiing to be had in the whole area.

Site of the world record for speed-skiing, the infamous ‘Flying Kilometre’ is currently being conditioned and pisted. Those visiting Les Arcs in the near future will get to see this terrifyingly steep black run aced by the professionals.

Snow at the top of the ski area has a base depth of 150cm and runs into resort have 10cm.

The sun is shining and is set to do so for the remainder of this week. Zermatt, being of such great elevation, allows fantastic skiing conditions to coexist with the delights of the March sunshine.

The weather for the next 3 days looks great for getting out on the slopes. The sun is set to shine continuously and with vigour. Watch out for that goggle tan!!
