Meribel snow report 29.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Meribel
There is 170cm of snow at the top of the Meribel ski area with 117cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on Sunday with 10cm of snow coming down.
90% of the runs are open with all 42 of the ski lifts open in Meribel
Today is partially cloudy with the temperatures reaching a maximum of 1 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday 1cm of snow is expected and then a blue sunny day with maximum temperatures of 4c. Thursday will be a colder day, overcast with maximum temperatures of -2c.
Ski conditions yesterday were extremely powdery both on the slopes and off due to the snowfall we had on the 27th. Today ski conditions will be absolutely perfect as the piste bashers will have been out all night grooming the pistes. Therefore, off piste will be divine and carving on piste will be a delight. Skiing will be a treat in general this week for skiers of all abilities.
This week in resort we have downhill racing taking place over the week. All can be seen from the Chaudanne. In Courchevel starting Friday there will be ice polo tournaments taking place next to the Altiport near 1850. The bar crawl will be taking place tonight in Meribel, with (as always) lots of interest, Inghams guests and the Reps will be taking Meribel by storm. In the Meribar this week we have the comedy stylings of Markus Birdman and others, the laughter will surely reverberate around resort throughout the night on Wednesday.
