Meribel snow report 28.12.2012

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Meribel

The snow depth at the top of the ski area at Meribel is 158cm and in resort there is 80cm on the home runs. It last snowed on 27/12/12 with 15cm.

There are 90% of the runs open in Meribel and all 42 of the lifts are open

We are looking at a completely clear day today with some clouds forming around evening time. With lows reaching -10 in the evening and as high as -3 during the day. Saturday promises to be much the same with sunny skies but with snow clouds forming in the afternoon and delivering its bounty overnight. This sun will continue into Sunday day, but will clear up again by the evening. Over the weekend we will have highs of 0 degrees and lows of -14, so pack clothes ready for all conditions.

Due to the good snowfall last night skiing today and indeed over the next few days will be exquisite. The fresh powder is ideal for freestylers and boarders, whilst the groomed piste is ideal for carvers and racing skiers. Today we have blue skies, just to add to the picturesque country side and skiing.

With Christmas memories still fresh in all our minds, we almost forgot that the new year is nearly upon us! All of the staff here and the locals are now geeing themselves up, working of that Christmas pudding and preparing to rain in 2013 with a bang. After all, the world didn’t end this year so I believe we all have something to celebrate! The bars are putting on their best deals and the restaurants their best spreads, so Meribel is definitely an excellent place to be at the moment. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
