Meribel Snow Report, 24 Mar 2010
The slopes are quieter this week and there is not a lift queue in sight! Down at the bottom of resort the snow is a bit slushy but the snowboarders are loving it. At the top of Saulire and Cote Brun the pistes are still in good condition with a good base coverage.
The sun is shining which has softened the icy patches we were experiencing and we have lovely spring skiing conditions.
The forecast is to be sunny clouds starting to gather Wednesday afternoon. Winds are staying light and the temperatures around 5⁰C at resort level and 0⁰C at 2000m. Snow is forecast for Friday, which will see us through the last month of the season.
This week we have the Altitude Festival so we have lots of famous names from comedy and music in resort. Newton Faulkner played at the top of the Saulire on Sunday and that has been a festival highlight so far.
Next week the resort will be back to normal with ice hockey matches on Tuesday and the ice disco on Wednesday.
