Meribel Snow Report, 19 Mar 2010
We have had some fantastic weather for 2 weeks now and the slopes have been fantastic. Despite the sun, temperatures have remained low so the snow has been nice. Mont Vallon and the runs over to Val Thorens are keeping their snow well in the sunshine as they are high.
All the links to the other valleys have been open this week so lots of people have been enjoying the long reds above Courchevel which catch the morning sun, such as the Combe de Saulire and Creux. The lower tree runs down to Meribel Village and La Tania are also lovely at the moment as the shade from the trees has kept the snow on the piste.
At resort level it is starting to cloud over and the temperature is about 4⁰C. Higher up the mountain we might see some snow with overcast conditions over the weekend and sunshine on Monday.
This week we have been enjoying the Little World festival which was put together by The Feeling and Sophie Ellis Bextor. They bought with them lots of other acts such as Norman J and beat boxing group Duke.
Next week is Altitude Festival and we have more music in resort from Newton Faulkner and DJ Yoda, as well as comedy from Phil Jupitus to name but one.
