Meribel snow report 18.12.2012

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Meribel

The snow depth at the top of the ski area at Meribel is 165cm and in resort there is 95cm on the home runs.It last snowed on 18/12/2012 with 5cm.

Wednesday is due to be fantastically sunny, some clouds will be in the sky but a lovely day for skiing. With lows of -11 and highs of -3 it will definitely be a day to keep warm in the sun. There will be some more snowfall over night on Wednesday with the temperature dropping to -13. The snow from Wednesday night will continue into the day on Thursday, but it looks to a light snowfall. Thursday will bring us lows of -4 and highs of -2 so a much warmer day than Wednesday. The snow does not seem to be relenting as we move into Friday though as snow is predicted all day Friday. Starting light in the morning, and building up to moderate in the afternoon, with showers overnight. Friday will have lows of -4 and highs of -3.

There are 48 runs open and 21/42 of the Meribel lifts are presently operating.

With the constant torrent of snow Meribel has received over the last three weeks and indeed the past few days, the off piste and on slope skiing is absolutely perfect. Fresh virgin powder awaits the off pisters, whilst faultless pisted crisp snow waits for those getting the first lift in the morning. Again, this weather is ideal for absolutely everyone, from beginners to experts and with the coming day of sun tomorrow skiers and boarders alike are dusting off their go-pros and planning their prospective routes to get the best views of the mountain and to get the best skiing or boarding done.

The first guests have arrived and have settled nicely into Meribel. With some excellent ski hosting sessions being taken up by enthusiastic guests, the staff have had a fantastic time skiing the mountain and getting to know people better. With the start of the great après events, the town centre is alive at night and the atmosphere is incredible. The first Meribar Pub Quiz last night was fantastic, with some entertaining, if questionable drawings of Rob the Rep in the picture round! All guests seem to be very enthusiastic and wanting to join in at any given opportunity! This is fantastic for everyone in resort and let us hope it continues for the rest of the season.
