Meribel Snow Report 12/04/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Meribel
There is 243cm of snow at the top of the Meribel ski area with 100cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 10th April with around 5cm falling.
There are 95% of pistes open in the Meribel ski area with 98% ski lifts open.
Today it is partially cloudy with sunny skies peaking through. Maximum temperatures of -1c with 3cm of snowfall expected Saturday: Slighty warmer with temperatures reaching 2 degrees with clouds expected. Sunday will be a blisteringly hot day with temperatures of 8 degrees with sunny skies.
Ski conditions are absolutely fantastic at the moment, the softer snow allows skis and boards to cut through it like butter! Skiers and boarders alike should have plenty of skiing for weeks to come!
All the staff are getting extremely down heartened that the season is coming to a close, however there are crazy close down parties in resort to soften the blow for everyone!
Amazingly the snow is still great and skiable in Meribel (which is altitude 1450) which has both baffled and amazed the locals! Today we have the Folie Douce closedown party and Daisy B will be playing at Scotts Bar tonight for an open mike night. The Rond Point is also having their close down party today, so there will be a battle between the two mountainside après bars to have the most pumping dance floor!
