Meribel Snow Report, 05 Mar 2010

Chalet, Méribel, FranceThere is 130 cm of snow on the upper slopes and 95 cm on the home runs to Meribel.

The conditions are lovely at the moment and I can’t wait to get out there!! The pistes have a generous covering of snow and the lift queues are back to normal now that the French holidays are over. The off-piste could do with a fresh layer of powder but there is still a lot that has not been tracked out. All the links to the other valleys have been open this week and because the piste has been in such good conditions, guests have been finding it easy to cover a lot of ground.

Beautiful sunshine today but with dropping temperatures, as low as -18 at 3000m. Tomorrow not so nice with clouds heading in and a chance of more snow, and those low temperature staying. Sunday will be warmer, only -6 at resort level but with higher winds and light snow.
Meribel Alpina have opened the Roc de Fer and the Olympic Express early 3 mornings a week so guests have a chance to ski first tracks. This also includes breakfast at the top of the mountain over looking Meribel.

Only a few more weeks until the Little World festival as well and the resort is really starting to get excited. All the acts have now been announced and the tickets are on sale from next week.
