Les Gets snow report 29.01.2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets

Up at the top of the resort we have 210cm of snow and we’ve got 90cm of snow down in resort today after the most recent snowfall in Les Gets. The date of the last snowfall was only a few days ago, with 20cm falling on 28/01/13.

There are 68 out of the 69 runs in resort that are open at the moment with only one lift that is closed, Grand Cry drag lift, however the Grand Cry ski run will still be accessible from the top of the Chavannes.

We’re expected a few clouds today, but it’s going to be much clearer tomorrow with some blue skies on Wednesday and on Thursday. There’ll be a little bit of snow on Wednesday, but the majority snow of the snow this week will fall on Friday and Saturday. We’re going to hit highs on 7 degrees this week which is warmer than it has been for some time. Lows will hit-13 later on in the week and wind chill will be as low as -22.

After the recent snowfall, the powder on the slopes is absolutely excellent. They’ve only been skied once since the snow arrived so the powder is still nice and fresh. It’s the perfect time to go and ski up on Mont Chery, which is always at its best when the powder is fresh, and will barely have been skied. The Chavannes will have had its snow completely replenished, so all over the Chavannes and the bowl will be great skiing fir the next few days.  Visibility is going to be excellent over the next few days with some clear skies, and hopefully some sun.

It the last Big Mountain Battle in Les Gets this week, so make sure you team up with someone good and hit the slopes on Wednesday for some fun and racing.
