Les Gets snow report 28.12.2012
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets
We’ve got about 140cm of snow at the top of the mountains at the moment. Down in resort there is roughly 50cm of snow. The last snow fall in resort was yesterday (27/12/12). We had a light dusting of snow throughout the night.
There are 60 out of the 69 runs in resort open at the moment. A good amount giving a variety of different skiing routes to be had. Of the 51 lifts in resort there are 49 open at the moment. Meaning all runs that are open will be easily accessible.
There should be some light snowfall this morning, with temperatures getting as low as -12 this afternoon. Tomorrow it should be clear throughout the day, with some heavier snowfall in the evening through to Sunday morning. It’s going to get as cold as -13 over the weekend and no higher than 3. Wind chill won’t be too bad, with it getting to -16.
Last nights dusting of snow means that the powder on the mountains is currently nice and fresh. Piste bashers have been out in force this morning, so the slopes should be in perfect condition for today’s skiers. We’re are expecting some light snow this morning, with it easing off this afternoon so we should have some good visibility up on the mountains after lunch time. As always conditions up on Mont Chery are excellent, with only a few skiers and boarders about on that side of the mountain, perfect if you want to avoid the ski school rush up on the Chavannes.
The Grand Cry ski run is open, so if you’ve got children make sure you give it a go. Santa came into resort on Christmas eve and is still about up in his enchanted forest.
