Les Gets Snow Report 26/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets
There is 190cm of snow at the top of the Les Gets ski area with 70cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on March 21st with around 16cmcm falling.
All of the pistes are open in the Les Gets ski area with 50 out of 52 ski lifts open.
There will be some more light snow showers throughout the day today, but by tomorrow things will have brightened up considerably and we’ll have some clear sunny skies. Thursday will bring us some more light snow showers too. Temperatures are going to be between 3 and -3 degrees.
The recent dump of snow at the end of last week means that the ski conditions are great. The slopes are covered in plenty of fresh powder. With the fresh snow, and the help of the piste bashers who have been working hard, the Arbis run down from Chamossiere is great fun to ski. With the current visibility the tree runs down to Morzine are fantastic to ski, such as Choucas and Piste F. The runs up on
Mont hery are always lots of fun in fresh powder too. Try Marmottes down the
back of the mountain, or Chamois from the top back down into the village.
Next week sees the start of the 6th edition of Ebouelle Contest. This sports, original and spectacular event gathers riders confirmed for Competition-Show Freestyle Ski and Snowboard. The concept rests on the glide, the graphic arts and the music for this 6th edition. Les Gets’ very own Ellie Soutter, from Bigfoots bar, has just won the under 13 boardercross in the BRITS in Tignes yesterday. Well done Ellie!
