Les Gets snow report 25.12.2012
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets
At the top of the mountains there is about 170cm of snow. We’ve got about 60cm of snow down in Les Gets at the moment. The last snow fall in resort was on 20/12/12 and we are expecting another snowfall today. We are expecting some light snow in resort tonight, with snow showers getting heavier tomorrow, and Thursday. Temperatures will be at a high of 3 and a low of-13 over the next three days with wind chill going down to -18.
There are 57 runs out of the 69 runs in resort that are open at the moment. 48 out of the 51 lifts in resort are open at the moment, with 27 blue runs and 24 red runs open, a good mix for all the experienced skiers out there.
Ski conditions are still good in resort. We had some extra snow fall on Saturday so powder is still excellent up on the mountain in Les Gets. The runs that are open are in great condition because they have only been open for a few days and have only been skied for roughly one day.
Up on Mont Chery the snow is very crisp and the visibility is excellent with a great view all around. Mont Blanc is clearly visible from the top of most of the runs, and there is a great view of resort from all vantage points. Over on the Yeti in the Les Gets bowls there are some fantastic moguls for the more experienced skiers in resort.
Santa arrived in resort last night in a candle lit procession with a spectacular display of fire works and Chinese lanterns; and he might even turn up in some of the chalets tonight. Le Grand Cry ski run is finally open which will be fun for all the children in resort with face painting and themed skiing.
