Les Gets Snow Report 19/02/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets
There is 260 cm of snow at the top of the Les Gets ski area right now, with temperatures at around -8 degrees. Down in the village we have 130 cm of snow with temperatures at a low of -7, but reaching around 2 degrees at midday. The date of the last snow fall in resort was on Friday 15/02/13 with a fairly heavy snowfall so snow is still nice and deep.
Today, there will be 68 out of the 69 runs in Les Gets open all of the 51 lifts in resort are currently all open, which is unusual as the Mouille Aux Chats is usually closed.
Skies are going to be pretty much clear for the next three days, with some snow setting in on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will get as low as -10 degrees on Thursday and the highest they will reach is -2 degrees, with wind chill as low as -10 degrees.
With all the snow we’ve had recently the skiing conditions have been absolutely excellent in resort. The fresh powder has meant that all the slopes have been great to ski, with near perfect conditions. This week the clear blue skies and sunshine have meant that on top of the fantastic snow we have here in Les Gets, the visibility has been brilliant, and the views from the top of the mountains, especially Mont Chery, have been spectacular. The remaining layer of powder means that despite the sun the pistes are still in a great condition to be skied this week.
The main event of the next few weeks is the theme of the 4 elements. The whole resort will be running various events, performances and workshops along this theme. The usual weekly events will be going on too, such as Colins tour of the in house brewery at the Irish bar, and live music on in Irish and in Indigo.
