Les Gets snow report 18.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets
We’ve got 190cm of snow at the top of the Les Gets ski area at the moment, and temperatures up there are around -13degrees. Down in resort we still have 85cm of snow on the ground and temperatures in the village are about 11cm. The last snowfall was yesterday, 17/01/13, and we have had fairly regular snowfalls in resort all week.
Only one run is closed at the moment, with 68 out of the possible 69 open. Same goes for lifts, only one out of the 51 lifts is closed today.
We are expecting some snow tonight, and again on Monday, with some light clouds in between. Temperatures are going to get down to around -13 degrees, with wind chill not much cooler at -14 degrees. Highest temperature over the next few days will be 0 degrees.
Ski conditions have been fantastic lately with all the recent fresh snow. Snow cannons have been going as well, so snow is fully replenished. As always, now is a great time to hit the slopes up on Mont Chery, especially if you want the slopes to yourselves. Up on the Chavannes side of the mountain, and over into the Les Gets bowl the snow has been perfect recently. As the more skied side of the mountain it can get worn out, but at the moment the snow is fantastic.
We had the first of the Big Mountain Battles on Wednesday this week, with guests, locals and seasonnaires all taking part. The next takes place this coming Wednesday. And we are just coming to the end of Les Gets relax week, which has been going on all week.
