Les Gets snow report 15.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets
Snow depth at the top of resort is great. It’s been around 160cm, but the recent snowfall means it’s going to be even deeper. Down in resort we’ve got plenty of snow. And it’s already getting deeper.
The last major dump of snow was last week on the 11/01/13. We had about 20cm of snow fall over Thursday and Friday. We have had a small amount of snow since. It snowed lightly throughout Sunday and is currently snowing lightly in resort now, and looking like it’s getting heavier.
Not many of the runs are closed at the moment. The fresh snow means that conditions are good on a lot of them. Most lifts have been open all week, but the mouilles des chats has been closed for a few days now.
It’s currently snowing down in Les Gets and it’s expected to snow mid week too. It’s going to get a little colder than it has been, dropping down to -20degrees during the week.
Ski conditions are fantastic at the moment. The fresh snow last week means that the slopes are excellent to ski right now. The powder up on Mont Chery is amazing, so it’s the perfect time to head up there, and the views of the snow covered mountains are breath taking. Chavannes has been completely replenished by the recent snowfall meaning that it has got some great skiing up on that side of the mountain and heading down into the Les Gets bowl.
Big mountain battle starts this week on Wednesday, so pair up and hit the slopes hard for some fun racing and challenges. It’ll be happening once a week for the next few weeks so don’t worry if you miss it.
