Les Gets Snow Report, 07 Dec 2010
The last week there has been a splendiferous dump of snow in the village of Les Gets and the mountain, approx 30cm at 1172m. The plentiful trees are glazed with snow making the resort look truly beautiful as we draw nearer to Christmas. The slopes are not yet open until the 18th December but because of the recent snowfall, runs on the Mont Chéry side of the resort have been opened on Saturday and Sundays.
Matt and Stuart, two experienced boarders in our staff said they found themselves in some knee-deep powpow/powder at the top of the ‘Pointe’ Sunday afternoon.
Snow is forecast to fall on Thursday so conditions could not be better. The temperature is averaging at 0-3 Celsius, which makes for lovely weather to stroll from shop to bar in the quaint town of Les Gets.
