Les Gets Snow Report 02/04/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets
There is 200 cm of snow at the top of the Les Gets ski area with 75 cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 31st March with around 13 cm falling.
There are 100% of pistes open in the Les Gets ski area with 86% ski lifts open.
It’s going to be cloudy most of the day tomorrow, and there is a slight chance of rain, however this will turn to snow during the evening and throughout the night. It’s going to clear up slightly on Wednesday, with a few more clouds on Thursday. Temperatures will be between -2 and 4 degrees.
With so much snow for this point in the season, we’re pleased to say that the ski conditions up on the mountain are still excellent. There’s been plenty of fresh powder recently, so there’s no need to worry about too many icy patches. The powder means we’ve got some great moguls, not only on the un-pisted black mogul runs, but on some of the usually pisted red runs. However if you’re not a fan of moguls a lot of these pistes have been split in two so you can ski the side without the moguls. We’ve been having plenty of sunshine too, which means visibility is excellent, and whilst you may not be able to experience the fantastic views from Mont Chery this week, there are some great viewing points up at the top of Nyon and Chamossiere as well as the Ranfolly lift, giving you some excellent opportunities for pictures.
This week sees the start of the 6th edition of the Ebouelle Contest. This sports, original and spectacular event gathers riders confirmed for Competition-Show Freestyle Ski and Snowboard. Watch them come through the arches of the Maison de Gets and hit the huge kicker in the centre of the square. The concept rests on the glide, the graphic arts and the music for this 6th and final edition
