Les Arcs Snow Report 22/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Arcs
There is 247cm of snow at the top of the Les Arcs ski area with 92cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 20th March with around 2cm falling.
There are 93% of pistes open in the Les Arcs ski area with 98% ski lifts open.
Bright, sunny weather both today and yesterday have provided the perfect opportunity to get out onto the mountain and enjoy the recent heavy snowfalls. Plenty of beautiful powder was to be found across the resort this week, and the sheer quantity of snow that fell on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, along with the snow that is forecast for early next week, will ensure that the pistes stay in excellent condition as we move into April and secure glorious Spring skiing.
Light snow is currently forecast for the weekend and the start of the coming week, and this should serve to continually top up the pistes with fresh snow with which the piste bashers can work their magic. Temperatures look set to be very comfortable for skiers and boarders out on the mountain, but cold enough to maintain piste conditions (particularly with the extra snow that is expected) as they hover between -2 and -7 across the weekend and into the middle of the week. With the light snow that is forecast, the best skiing for the start of the week looks set to be found on the beautiful tree-lined pistes of Vallandry and Peisey.
Snow forecast for the next 3 days:
Saturday: Highs of -3°C and lows of -4°C light snow (3cm expected)
Sunday: Highs of -3°C and lows of -4°C light snow (7cm expected)
Monday: Highs of -5°C and lows of -7°C light snow (8cm expected)
