Les Arcs Snow Report 20 Mar 2012
As spring starts in the Alps the spring snow showers have also arrived. Only 12cm were forecast for Sunday and Monday but estimates suggest around quadruple this amount fell. With the balmy weather that we had been having the past couple of weeks the slopes had been getting in pretty bad shape, but now we have a good fresh covering everywhere and the temperature has dropped significantly so this fresh snow will be staying in good condition for a while yet.
And with many little snow showers forecast throughout the week conditions are only set to get better. With all this fresh snow and it being a very quiet week up in Les Arcs the skiing is some of the best we have had all season. The top of the ski area at 3000m has 275cm of snow and the bottom of the ski range at 1600m still has 150cm of snow. This means that all the pistes are completely covered and all the lifts are completely operational. So any one heading up here in the near future will be set for an amazing time.
