Les Arcs snow report 05/02/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Arcs

There is 234cm of snow at the top of the Les Arcs ski area with around 124cm in resort. It is currently snowing in resort and it will continue for a few days.

102 of the 107 ski runs are open here in Les Arcs with 46 of the 51 lifts open also.

Powder, powder powder across the entire Paradiski area today!  Over half a metre fell over Friday evening and the fluffy white stuff has started to fall again.  It is currently dumping down huge dry snowflakes, giving the promise of light dry powder.  A massive 30cm of snow is forecast for the next three days, with the majority falling on Tuesday evening.

With the entire area covered in a thick layer of powder, those staying in Les Arcs are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing where to ski.  The summits of the Aiguille Rouge and Grand Col will provide some impressive and technical descents.  If snow filled trees are fancied, then the beautiful areas of Vallandry and Plan Peisey will provide the perfect answer.

As mid-season approaches Les Arcs can reflect on a great first half of the season and a great start to the latter half.  The excitement is almost tangible as to what February, March and April have in store.

Snow forecast for the next 3 days:

Tuesday: Highs of -6°C and lows of -4°C heavy snow at night (18cm expected)

Wednesday: Highs of -12°C and lows of -16°C light snow (12cm expected)

Thursday: Highs of -15°C and lows of -17°C light snow (2cm expected)
