Lech Snow Reports, 16 Mar 2010
Further new snow yesterday and today should refresh the pistes with powder and offer good skiing throughout the region with fresh snow sitting on top of the newly groomed pistes. There is already up to 175cm of snow on the Steinmahd at 2300m.
A fantastic variety of terrain is available on the 97% of the ski area open. Run 14 from above Zurs offers some fantastic on piste skiing whilst the 14a itinerary run gives the more adventurous a challenge particularly with this new snow
It is currently snowing reasonably heavily in resort with 15 cm having fallen over night and light to moderate snow due to continue falling on and off through the morning and becoming lighter this afternoon. The freezing level should stay well below the height of the resort today maintaining good snow conditions at all altitudes.
Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be bright days with good visibility and light winds. The temperature is expected to rise with a resort level maximum of 7°C on Wednesday and 8°C on Thursday
There is plenty going on in Lech. Mercedes are sponsoring the annual “Golf on Snow” event allowing keen golfers to play for a variety of cups. There is also the chance to enjoy some snow tubing excitement between 10.00 and 21.00 each day at the park between Oberlech and Tannegg.
