Learn to Ski | The UK Skiing Scene

The UK is not exactly the place to ski, is it? When you want to learn to ski, especially in summer, the lack of snow is usually a big stumbling block. Naturally, the English and Scottish Ski Resorts rely on actual snow – not something you’d commonly find during summer. But last winter, they had a really good season!

We wanted to make it a little easier for you. Learning to ski in the UK’s snowsports scene, it can often get crowded in the ‘real snow’ centres, such as Chill Factore, Sno!Zone and the Snow Dome, not to mention Hemel Hempstead’s busy Snow Centre. So, here is a region-by-region breakdown of all of the #ukskiing centres, not just the ones you think you’ve heard of.

For most Londoners, the Hemel Hempstead Snow Centre is the obvious choice, with its ‘real snow’ feel, easily-accessible location and lesson choice. Since 2013, rumour has it that there is a multi-million pound project in the pipeline to bring London its very own snow centre. Will it actually happen? Time will tell. So far, it’s a none-runner.
