Ischgl Snow Report 26/02/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Ischgl
There is 160cm of snow at the top of the Ischgl ski area with 50cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on Sunday with around 3cm falling.
There are 234km of pistes open in the Ischgl ski area with 42 of the 43 ski lifts open.
A high-pressure area situated over Northern Europe will spread across the Alpine regions and stay there for longer. A low-pressure area over the Mediterranean regions will dissolve, subsequently the variable south-easterly current located over our regions will depart. On Wednesday, some remains of low-stratus may still block out the sun in the valleys, in the mountains, however, very sunny conditions are expected. These conditions will continue on for the rest of the week. High air pressure will bring a period of calm and bright weather. The temperatures will rise, spring will knock on our doors!
With the large amount of snowfall we had yesterday there is plenty of fresh powder on the slopes. The ski conditions are excellent Make sure you wrap up warm as temperatures have slightly dropped. Why not stop for a hot chocolate on one of Ischgl’s popular bars in the mountain to help warm you up throughout the day.
Why not try tobogganing on the 28th and don’t miss Ischgl’s amazing ski show Tonight this should definitely not be missed. Also for some interesting knowledge why not check out Ischgl’s museum it is open on 27th Feb you will be able to look at thing such as the first ever ski lifts used and vintage ski’s used and lots more. The children during half term will love it. There is also a Jazz band playing in the Silvretta centre on Wednesday 13th. Also don’t forget to run the 40’s which are great if you fancy a bit of duty free shopping. The conditions are great at the moment so don’t miss out.
