Courchevel Snow Report, 30 Mar 2010

Courchevel, FranceThe snow depth is 158cm at 2700m and 110 cm at 1850m, and lots of it new!

The dump of the season arrived as forecast on Friday and carried on well into Sunday afternoon when the sun came out to welcome all the new snow. Lots of the pistes were struggling but the fresh dump managed to ensure that this week will be an amazing one weather wise.

Due to the sterling piste-bashing the slopes can be very hard-packed in the mornings but still creating a very steady base and once the pistes have been skied a few times and it warms up a touch the conditions are perfect around 10 30 with the snow perfectly trustworthy for flying down any of Courchevel’s excellent runs.

With fresh powder due today, and warmer conditions it promises to be a great few days for exploring Courchevel’s many and varied pistes.

More light snow is forecast for today and tomorrow with the sun coming out again on Thursday.

Today sees a guided tour of the Dali au Sommet exhibition which is followed by a free Jazz concert in La Croisette hall.

Later in the week there is a Clown Show for the Children with Magicians and a great show for them to enjoy.
