Courchevel Snow Report, 19 Mar 2010

Skidoo ride6cm of snow fell on 15th March and there is now 104cm of snow in resort (1850) and 125cm up at 2700m. 94% of runs are open along with 57/64 lifts.

Sunny conditions are forecast for today but then overcast over the weekend. We seem to have suddenly gone from the depths of winter to spring in one short step with nothing in between. Temperatures are not so cold and some people are making the most of it and getting a kick-start on their tans.

We’ve got great snow depth and as ever the pistes are immaculately bashed so yesterday presented beautiful conditions as should today.

The trick with this spring weather is to get out early and ski high. The snow is soft and easy to ski on, and in this quieter part of the season, Courchevel is a completely stress free environment with wide empty pistes, avoiding the fancy dressers doing a charity Valley Rally

The big news this week is that Prince William is in resort, apparently hugely enjoying the Folyeres run down into La Tania.
