Courchevel snow report 18.12.2012

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Courchevel

The snow on the top slopes of Courchevel is measuring in at 165cm with 79cm on the lower pistes. It last snowed  yesterday with a light dusting.

25/62 lifts open.

“Ou est mon voiture? Mon voiture dans le neige?!” This phrase is, unfortunately for French drivers, currently commonplace across Courchevel. As numbers in resort swelled with festive cheer, the women’s World Cup and the prospect of powder skiing, some careless car-owners were to be seen stomping around town calling out their vehicles, as if in a game of hide and seek that had gone on a little too long. Logistical carnage in town, of course, means superb conditions on the slopes.

Temperamental cloud cover has often shrouded the lower slopes but a determined afternoon sun has chipped away on top, bathing the Three Valleys in a fleeting sun kissed splendor  The next few days promise a similar game of cloud vs sun, with the odd snow shower, and with superb conditions underfoot the rewards for the sun-chasers could be very large indeed.
