Courchevel snow report 08.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Courchevel
There is 162cm of snow at the top of the Courchevel ski area with 99cm down in resort. The last snowfall was on the 1st January with 1cm falling. The weather is due to be clear and sunny until Thursday.
There are 50 of the 57 Courchevel lifts open with 114 of the 119 runs open.
Deck chairs in the defiant afternoon sun. Cocktails at dusk. Liquid drum and bass and funky house until the early hours. Ayia Napa? Heaven forbid, Ibiza? No – forget Pete Tong – Courchevel. 1850, 1650, 1550, Le Praz, take your pick. A summer vibe has percolated all levels of the resort as Frank Sinatra’s frightful festive weather becomes a distant December memory. January’s winter sun is packing a punch with factor 50, freckles and the oh-so-fashionable goggle tan becoming commonplace in resort. The dogged anticyclonic high is preparing for battle with a westerly front on Thursday, but until then at least, Mojito’s, anyone?
