Chalet La Breche, Alpe d Huez

Chalet La Breche, Alpe d'HuezWe took possession of the La Brêche yesterday – our new-build Scandinavian–style ski-in/ski-out chalet in Alpe D’Huez. The staff’s jaws hit the floor as they walked through the door – their joy turned to fear as they realised the responsibility they are now undertaking for one of the nicest properties in our portfolio!

Throughout, it is skilfully finished in stone and wood. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with pine beds, squishy mattresses and carved or painted drawers and wardrobes – all have tiled under floor heating which can be individually set to your own ideal temperature and get this – we have installed a flat-screen TV/DVD player in each bedroom! The dining room is bright and spacious with the largest flat-screen TV I have ever seen – it even has a Blu Ray DVD player.

There is still some availability in February and some in March/April – often the best time to go with longer days and with Alpe D’Huez’s altitude, chances are the snow will still be great! But places are going fast, so book now!

Sounds great, we have been watching eagerly as we are booked in for Feb half term – hopefully enough time between now and then to let it “bed in” and iron out any snags, but not long enough to break it all 🙂

    Keep it nice for us!

Now a question – what night is the night off for the chalet staff, please?

And could you show me exactly where it is on a map of the village?

Thank you for your enquiry and we look forward to seeign you in Febraury when you join the team in Alpe d’Huez.

In answer to your questions, the Staff night off is Wednesday and I have included a link to a map where I have placed a pin to show the location of the chalet. If you need any further information please let me know.

      Kind regards

We stayed during the last week of January. Chalet, food and staff were absolutely brilliant! Mini supermarket and cash point, restaurants, bars.. all within a few minutes walk down the steps.

No wifi yet – landlord has been slow apparently. Bluray player lets you plug in usb devices (e.g. usb stick, external drive) so you can watch your ‘home videos’ 😉

oh, and the hot tub was lovely after a hard day on the slopes!

Thanks for the great feedback on the Chalet La Brêche, we’ll pass on your comments to the staff in resort.

      Kind regards.
