Calling All Powder Enthusiasts – Ischgl in Austria launches their new ‘Piz Val Gronda’…
Do you want to explore something new this upcoming winter season? Do you want to be part of exploring a new ski territory with untouched deep snow areas away from the mainstream (without the hiking)? Do you want to enjoy skiing on broad slopes and sporty peaks with stunning views? If your answer is yes, we have the place for you!
Ischgl in Austria launches their new €18.5million ‘Piz Val Gronda’ aerial tramway at the end of December this year. The gondola will transport 150 people up to an altitude of 2,812m (in 5.5 minutes) to previous entirety unexplored terrain. You have the chance to explore freeride skiing and boarding like never before in the area – endless untouched areas of deep powder fields are all yours!
The Ischgl ski resort is located in high Alpine areas at over 2,000 m above sea level and should therefore pretty much guarantee good powder snow throughout the season.
With stunning views over the entire Flimbatal Valley including Fluchthorn, Wildspitze and Hohe Riffler you are assured not to be disappointed. For all non powder lovers there will be a 3km red piste leading down into the Vesiltal Valley. The project has taken astonishing 28 years to plan and was under constant consultation with the state of Tyrol and the nature protection authorities.
Ischgl is a quiet village nicely tucked away south of St Anton in the Paznaun valley on the Swiss border. The ski area is shared with tax haven Samnaun in Switzerland and also provides a awesome Snow-Art Park. Ischls apré scene is renowned for being a bit less tame (to put it mildly) so if you’re planning a visit this winter, make sure you bring your best party mood and aspirin.
Ischgl also arrange plenty of events for all of you who want more than powder and aprés bars. Everything from the world Rookie Finals (international snowboarding showdown) to Music festivals with top international artists.
If you are a powder loving thrill seeker, an aprés maniac party animal or just someone wanting to ski or board in an amazing place, Ischgl is truly the place to be this winter!
