Bonjour Rosiére!

esprit_la_rosiere_viewEver wondered what the fuss is all about with the French resort of La Rosiére? As we are launching some fantastic deals for all our guests  in our Chalet Oliver in La Rosiére we caught up with Sarah Meek, one of our managers in La Rosiére to talk about why she thinks this beautiful resort is the place to be this season.

“La Rosiere is truly the hidden gem of the Tarentaise Valley the pistes are quiet  and there is no queuing, except for a short period in February when the French schools are on holiday. But even then the pistes still appears quite empty. The wide pistes making this resort excellent for beginners, but across the border in Italy, La Thuile has guaranteed snow cover thanks to its north-facing slopes and crisp, dry powder. The ski area possesses a variety of marked slopes, forest trails and wide expanses of off-piste terrain. There is something for all levels of skier to enjoy in the skiing area in La Rosiére” It’s also a great ski area for boarders. It has loads of dedicated areas within the purpose built snow park 500m long complete with rails, tables and slides plus a boarder cross area. Snow kiting is something that is big here as well, they even have their own area. And why not try heliskiing when you are here?”

“Something else that makes this resort special is the people who live here, they truly make the atmosphere in the resort fantastic. Everyone is friendly and no-one passes you in the street without greeting you with a friendly Bonjour! Everyone always offers a helping hand when needed, which is great when running such a large operation”.

“I have worked in La Rosiére for the past 5 seasons with a little stint in Switzerland and I absolutely love this resort.  I do genuinely  recommend this resort for families and large groups that want to be able to ski together. Eating out won’t break your bank here ether, restaurants and cafés are affordable compared to many other resorts”.
