Avoriaz Snow Report 12/04/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Avoriaz

There is 340cm of snow at the top of the Avoriaz ski area with 300cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on  12th April with around 10cm falling.

There are 86% of pistes open in the Avoriaz ski area with 83% ski lifts open.

A light dusting of snow is expected throughout today, with the sun starting to break through the
clouds from the afternoon and following through to the weekend. Temperatures
continue to warm up nicely, with wind remaining light.

For the last few days of guests this season the ski conditions just refuse to disappoint. With fresh
powder making an appearance almost every day the slopes all remain skiable and even better they are beyond quiet. Even Avoriz itself, usually the busiest and most popular in the Porte du soleil is refreshingly peaceful, meaning these next few days, coupled with the sunshine will be the perfect end to a fantastic winter.

The resort of Avoriaz is mostly preparing for the end of what has been an amazing season. One of last events to grace the sloes is that of the Rip curl alive and kicking tour on April 17th. With its 15 stops on Europe’s most famous battlefields, the Alive & Kickin warfare campaign gives freestyle fans everywhere – whether skiers or snowboarders, young or old, beginners or experts – the chance to hit the Rip Curl village Hip and Rail jumps for free, with a private BBQ and DJ set thrown
in too!
