Person Throwing SnowThe snow depth on the upper Portes du Soleil slopes is a great 210cm with the local Avoriaz runs having a depth of 170cm.

The ski conditions at the moment are good after receiving a fresh dusting of snow late last week and a all round much needed temperature drop the pistes are looking excellent all across the ski area.

With over 2 meters of snow at the top of resort the entire ski area is currently open with 100% of the pistes which includes 50 in Avoriaz alone as well as 7 powder fields to be explored for those more interested in freestyle skiing there is a super pipe, 2 boarder cross, 3 snow parks and the famous Burton sponsored ‘Stash’ terrain park there is a huge amount for all levels.

The snow forecast for today and the next three days is predicting 10cm of snow with light snow/ snow showers all day everyday. Wind speeds are average today with speeds between 10-15km/h however wind speeds drop to a more bearable 5km/h on Wednesday evening.

Temperatures on average over the next 3 days are between -5 and -14 during the day time and dropping as low as -19 Friday night, at night wind speeds are due to bring the temperature down as low as -25 at night aswell.

This week in resort there is a ski rally around the Avoriaz ski area, as well as a freestyle ski competition sponsored by ‘Gore tex’ for professional and amateur riders.
