Avoriaz Snow Report 05/04/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Avoriaz
There is 330cm of snow at the top of the Avoriaz ski area with 290cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 31st March with around 22cm falling.
There are 100% of pistes open in the Avoriaz ski area with 100% ski lifts open.
A dusting of new snow is expected throughout today, with the sun beginning to come out on Saturday following through to a clear and glorious day on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to barely reach above freezing with wind generally being light.
Ski conditions remain excellent for this time of year. The season is breaking in to spring but the snow remains plentiful and the pistes all fully functional. The weather is set to brighten up for the final 2 weeks, leading to enjoyable cruising days and topping up that much sought after goggle tan!
Tomorrow sees the start of the Avoriaz jazz festival, which will run on throughout the week. Avoriaz Jazz’Up has now earned a reputation as one of France’s great jazz festivals thanks to the amazing line-up of international stars it has attracted in the last 6 years: Jonathan Kreisberg, Archie Shepp, Ahmad Jamal, China Moses… This season, the programme will be based around headliner concerts in the festival hall and cabaret-style dinner-concerts in the restaurants of the resort at Lenvers, Fangle, Cabane, Réserve, Briska, Fontaines Blanches, Bistro and Amara.
