Avoriaz Snow Report, 02 Mar 2010
The ski conditions at the moment are good with 210cm of snow on the upper slopes at the top of the resort and 175cm on the lower slopes near the village. We have had a dusting of about 10cm of snow over the last 2 days which has created an excellent base layer on the off piste enthusiast and helped hard pack the pistes a bit which is keeping them in pristine condition.
With 92% of the ski area open there is a huge amount to do and explore as well as the 7 snow fields, 4 snow parks and the super pipe all at your disposal. If that isn’t enough then you can always explore the rest of the Portes Du Soleil ski area which boasts the largest international ski area in world.
The snow forecast for today and the next three days is predicting light snow and cloud until Friday when it is due to clear up and be a beautiful day. Wind speeds are varying from 10 – 20km/h. The temperatures vary greatly with Wednesday being a very warm day with temps between 0 and -3 and then temperatures dropping as low as -23 with wind-chill on Thursday night
This week in resort there is a masked ‘carnival’ parade through the town followed by a torch light decent by the ESF ski school with free ‘Vin Chaud’ provided.
