35cm of fresh powder fell on Sunday so the slope sare fully refreshed and boasting a snow depth of 120cm on the highest point of the Dolomites and 30cm on the ground in resort.
Whilst the snow conditions remained good throughout half term week, the celebratory week of Carnevale brought 35cm of fresh powder to the resort on Sunday. Monday’s skiing was powder heaven in the morning before coming quite chopped up after lunch. Despite snow still falling on Monday morning snow visibility on slopes was still quite good and improved hugely when the sun came out in the afternoon. Tuesday and the rest of the week is set to be warm with low wind conditions, cloudless bright days. Wind speeds upto 10kmph and temperatures to be no lower than -9oc.
Weather forecast is for bright sunshine filled skiing throughout the week, low wind temperatures and low wind speeds. Freeze-thaw is set to be the main condition expected from day to night. Cloudless nights mean temperatures could drop significantly at night. This should however make good speedy ski conditions.
Carnevale hits Arabba with festivities held at all hotels and bars in the local area. Snow shoeing continues to offer an exciting educating opportunity for those wishing not to ski on Wednesday. Wine tasting in the local wine bar accompanied by local hams, cheeses and breads continues to be popular. Build up to the next ski show on the 7th of March is also happening with Dolimiti Arabba ski school and the local ski club practicing on the slope
