Alpe d’Huez snow report 18.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Alpe d’Huez.
There is 275cm of snow at the top of the Alpe d’Huez ski area and 140cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was 12cm on Tuesday.
131 runs are open in Alpe d’Huez with 60 of the 64 lifts open.
Over the next three days the forecast is for a foot of snow over the weekend and sunshine on Monday.
Snow snow snow and sunshine. We’ve had goggle-tanning clear skies for the past few days, but the temperature has stayed sufficiently low to prevent any melt so there is still no ice or unpleasant crust on the powder. The resort isn’t very busy either so there are still plenty of fresh tracks to be carved. We’re due more snow on transfer day so next week’s guests are in for a whale of a time.
Bob On are the talk of the town this week. A popular regular installment in Underground, they put a funky modern twist on the God of Reggae’s classics. This is their first time playing this season. Ram Raid did not fail to disappoint again last night in Smithy’s, kicking the apres off with a mellow version of Enter Sandman and a metal version of Superstition, and injecting vigor into tired oldies like the Beatles with some spice from Rage Against the Machine. Videos to follow shortly on YouTube.
