Alpe d’Huez snow report 14.12.2012

The latest snow report from our team in Alpe d’Huez

There is an amazing 260cm of snow at the top of the Alpe d’Huez ski area with 108cm down in resort. The last snowfall was last night and we had a nice 8cm fall. Over the next 3 days we are expecting 60cm of snow with clear blue skies for the rest of the week.

The pistes are fantastic at present. They are firm enough to ski on easily but with just enough softness on top to give a smooth flowing sensation. There’s no ice to be seen anywhere. The majority of the resort’s runs are closed until the beginning of the week to keep them fresh for the main influx of visitors.

We’ve an eclectic mix of events planned to keep everyone amused next week, from snowboard taster sessions to helicopter rides to neighboring resorts. Rumours abound that George Michael might be visiting the resort next week and playing a surprise gig in Underground, much to the delight of our chalet manager.
