Alpe d’Huez snow report 11.12.2012
The latest snow report from our team in Alpe d’Huez
The snow depth at the top of the ski area at Alpe d’Huez is 260cm and in resort there is 124cm on the home runs. We had a light covering of fresh snow last night, to top up the already deep snowpack. Today 24 out of the 112 runs in resort are open, they are in the main basin surrounding Alpe d’Huez.
The slopes are in fantastic condition, the snowbase is firm with the dusting of powder from last night makes the great skiing for the morning session. The clouds sweeping across the ski area and dashes blue skies have allowed the runs to maintain their condition well into the afternoon over the last few days. The powder off the piste is deep and great fresh lines litter the lower un-pisted slopes.
Thursday onwards the snow is due to hit resort, with the weekend having a really heavy dump of 10cm. The rest of the resort opens on the 15th of December except for Auris. The Sarenne, the longest black in Europe is open tomorrow for the day and should reopen along with the others runs.
