Aprés Ski
Courchevel 1850 is renowned for both the quality and variety of its après ski life. Ranging from highly sophisticated through to loud and lively, it is mostly based around the atmospheric heart of the village. Perhaps catch Parisian cabaret stars in an exclusive club, enjoy packed theme nights at one of the discos or a casual beer at L’Equipe – there really is something to appeal to all tastes.
Courchevel 1650 is no less lively and its restaurants and bars, three of which have regular live bands and dancing, offer a wide range of evening entertainment.
For dining out, 1850 is undoubtedly the best in the Alps, including two Michelin starred restaurants, but both centres offer a wide range of choice, from haute cuisine right down to budget pizzerias.
Other off-piste activities include ice-driving and paragliding for adrenaline junkies, or you could stroll around the art galleries, chic shops and street markets, have a go at ice-skating, or simply relax at the health centre with a sauna.

The Skiing
Courchevel is renowned for having one of the longest ski seasons and the best snow cover in the whole of the Alps, and has headed skiers’ list of prestige resorts for many a year now.
1850 is located in a wide bowl, where the skiing encircles the resort, with runs leading to virtually every corner of town. Locally, most are boulevard pistes and glades, absolutely perfect for beginners and improvers. Meanwhile sweeping runs extend above, where better skiers will find the steeper pistes, bumps, powder and the famous couloirs of La Saulire.
To the east, Courchevel 1650 is mostly gentle, and everyone, including better skiers, will have a smile on their face as they cruise down scenic and winding runs like Pyramide.
Down the valley, around 1550, Le Praz and La Tania, is wonderful roller-coaster country, and you will discover slopes here suitable for all.
Above and to the west is the Col de la Loze – from where you drop down to Méribel and start to explore the rest of the massive Three Valleys. See Méribel and Val Thorens for more details of all the wonderful skiing in these neighbouring valleys.
